salesforce - Clearing the value of a Multi-Select Picklist using API -

i have simple question - how use php soap api clear value of multi-select picklist in salesforce? can update other fields heart's content, if try , update field empty string, nothing.

i know i'm missing simple this, can point me int right direction?

you want add picklist field name sobject fieldstonull string array.
