Cannot connect to remote SQL Database with SQL Server Management Console (Error 53) -
i have opened port 1433 on firewall, every time try , connect remote sql database sql server management console receive (microsoft sql server, error: 53)
enable remote connections sql server express 2012
short answer
- check firewall
- check service running
- check tcp/ip enabled
- check sql server properties "allow remote connections"
- check if sql server on restricted subnet
then run these if not resolve
- right-click on tcp/ip , select properties.
- verify that, under ip2, ip address set computer's ip address on local subnet.
- scroll down ipall.
- make sure tcp dynamic ports blank.
- make sure tcp port set 1433.
- if have named instance must have sql server browser service enabled
- the browser service runs on port udp 1434 , must allowed through firewall
hail mary pass if still not resolved
- go client machine, , run cliconfg.exe if named pipes listed first, demote it, , promote tcp/ip.
- check if firewall blocking named pipes port, 445
